Class of 2017 Matric Results Announcement

“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the matriculants for their hard work and wish them all the best as they embark on tertiary education and other post-school ventures.”
The Democratic Alliances spokesperson on education Nomsa Marchesi congratulated the 2017 class ahead of announcement. Motshega and her team briefed president Jacob Zuma on the performance of the 2017 matric at his home in KwaZulu Natal on Wednesday.
Class of 2017 not only produced top results but have also displayed the character and leadership qualities that will allow them to have influence within society. I wish them all the best as they proceed in their careers of choice.
We thank the teachers and parents who have certainly been nurtured along a path of success, and a community, we are confident that they have the other top achievers at the school, all with distinctions in all their subjects, include Thomadakis, Irene Baladakis, Alexander Sorore, Nokwanda Mthembu.
Altogether, Eastern Cape matric results achieved 239 distinctions (3, 79 distinctions per candidate), achieving a Bachelor degree pass which allows them access to university.
Class of 2017 not only produced top results but have displayed the character and Stephanou ranked within the top 1% nationally in English, Geography, Life Orientation, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. Stephanou scored an A+ in Mathematics, Physical Sciences.
She also named an IEBOutstanding Achiever, ranking within the top 5% of IEB candidates nationally in six or more subjects.
Matric pupils from independent schools say they are relieved, grateful and some are exhausted after a challenging academic year. The IEB national senior certificate results were released on Wednesday, they show a slight improvement in the 2017 matric pass rate.
These pupils from Limpopo say they are glad that the academic year is over. It’s a nice end era and a good start to new beginning and adulthood.
Matric pupils from private schools are now waiting on formal approval and placement at universities of their choices after receiving their results.
Parents and children celebrated their results at their various schools since early Wednesday morning. The pass rate from these schools now stands at 98.76% for the class of 2017.
