Bricks sentenced 15 years to prison for raping niece

Local kwaito star Sipho “Bricks” Ndlovu has been sentenced 15 years imprisonment in the Roodepoort Magistrate Court. Bricks was found guilty of raping his 17 year old niece at his home in Johannesburg in November 2013.

He didn’t stay that long in jail he stayed only for about a month, because his bail was approved that was about R 50 000 for him to be released. The local kwaito star knew what he was doing and didn’t want anybody to know about that incident that happened. He told the 17 year old girl that he would kill her if she would tell anyone about that.

Bricks didn’t have any conscience as he told the 17 year old girl to go and take a bath after that, she was a child she didn’t know anything about sex and sleeping around but the one and only person she trusted and called “uncle” did that to her and she still doesn’t believe that. Bricks took advantage with the girl because he knew that her mother passed on and her father was ill and bricks was the only one to take care of her.

Bricks niece had a lot going on and could not process all of that, she was suffering emotional and at school she was not coping at all, she failed her June examination because the fear was unbearable. She was scared of brick and each and every time when she saw him she would hide and who does that, no one should be scared of their uncles because they are the one who should take care of them and provide for them whenever they needed anything. Uncles are there to protect their niece and not do anything to them.

She knew that she was supposed to be protected and feel free when she was with her uncle and not for the uncle to rape her because that’s not how she used to look at him, she was his role model being there for her and helping her with things when she needed help. He didn’t feel anything even when he saw that the victim kept crying all the time he didn’t feel guilty for his actions towards the girl.

It is no secret that he was arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly threaten to kill his lover, it is prove that he had a rough start and didn’t want to go and get help to stop this from going too far, but nothing stopped him and did what he did and 15 years is not enough at all, he should have spent a life time in jail because his wife doesn’t deserve someone who does this.

Bricks was supposed to step in and play the role of being a father figure to the girl and not doing what he was not supposed to be doing. His wife was very supportive to a point whereby the girl was open to her and told her what happened and she was with her the whole step of the way and helped her through what she went through. Bricks should have felt very proud to be called an uncle but instant he turned that into a bad name and to all the uncles out there.
