CANCER AWARENESS
Mexican boys along with hunambhuzi tshena in partnership with the department of health hosted a breast cancer awareness event.
This year we primarily focused more on mobilising the general public and introducing the concept to both ordinary community members and corporate entities. Also doing all we can to make the event possible while we are busy marking all areas of improvement so that the next one should be bigger, better and more informative. We got up and knocked on doors of reputable entities, luckily the department of health opened their ears with warm reception.
Organising this event brought all of us close together, as the youth of South Africa we gained more insight of where exactly can we fit in combating national issues. When we talk of health and vitality of ordinary South Africans the Department of Health is the one department that deals with such issues. Since cancer is a health issue the department was most relevant, we used and relied more on the influence we have because of our entertainment status to bring in more weight in the whole thing. We organized the event with a company called Huna Mbudzi Tshena they worked more on the integrated marketing solutions. We had the University of Limpopo, Tshikovha Graduates Academy and Radio Turf.
However we believe it is also very important to note that we had very dedicated individuals who also devoted their undivided efforts and time all for the success of this event and for that we are forever grateful. The one message we learnt was “it’s never too early nor too late to live a healthy lifestyle.
Before we are entertainers we are members of a community, cancer affects us and our loved ones in a way or the other. We wanted to lead the way in making sure that our people are fed with the much needed information that can make people relook their way of living and thinking around the disease.
We are always ready to help in the best of our efforts and together with them we are more than willing to fight.
People are advised to look at their lifestyle choices and symptoms vary from the type of cancer in question. The best thing people can do is to equip their minds with knowledge and information and disseminate it to the next person so that we end up having a winning nation. In that sense that will be a movement that will continue today and always.
