DA TO OPPOSE MKHWEBANE CANDIDACY
According to Sowetan live, the Democratic Alliance will on Tuesday present its stance on Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s candidacy as the next public protector, a day of it being debated in the National Assembly.
This was after Mkhwebane was recommended for the post to the National Assembly, where she will require at least 60% of the votes to be confirmed.
The DA however, was not satisfied with Mkhwebane claiming that the party was ambivalent towards her.
Werner Horn- party’s shadow-said on Tuesday that the “DA values the role of the public protector as one of the most critical in ensuring that the South African government functions efficiently and corruption-free”…we contend that her qualification and experience make her unsuitable for the post.
The DA listed a few reasons why they do not support her nomination including the fact that she has no practical experience compared to the other four candidates.
