STREET FOOD MARKET - TEMBISA
EASY SATURDAYS – Tembisa is not the same anymore, Easy Saturdays provide the best chillas, and all the local gourmet prepared by township (kasi) chefs. At about 12:00 Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa was quarter full, people from all ages were there enjoying good food, good drinks and good music, “Over 2000 people who we are sure they’ll pop up bought the tickets online (webticket) and the others who bought them in person they are more 1500”, said Bongani; the founder of Easy Saturdays street food market. About 150 food courts were situated with mouth-watering food and drinks.
The stage was phenomenal, the lighting. Kasi celebrities and the upcoming ones filled it with their sweet melodious vocals and their dance moves that made the night awesome.
Even though the place was over crowded the security was tight – they were bouncers and security men. South African Metro Police as well as the ambulance in case of emergence, “We has to make sure that the place is safe and secure to manage situations where people get hurt or in case of emergence,” said Bongani
The Market was once again very well put together… the cocktails were well blended the effort that went into the preparation of the food, the selection of music and the overall vibe was too nice,” said Moeketsi Ramosana on Facebook.
Bongani in collaboration with his business partner and cousin Lebo are planning on expanding the event to a three days event with a camp at night – it will be like tomorrow land is due to happen from the 15th till the 16th; during the day it will be like a normal event, some sort of a picnic where people will be enjoying kasi food, cocktails and music. Then at night they will be buses that will be there to transport people from the event to a camping place.
